William Aubrey Bridwell's Obituary
Born in Dallas, Texas on June 13, 1934 to William Aubrey Bridwell and Mary Alice Ketchum, he passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010. He is survived by daughters, Carolyn O. Bridwell and Laura Bridwell-Meyeres, and son-in-law, Kenneth W. Meyeres; ex-wife, Olga Bridwell; brothers and sisters-in law, John L. and Nubia Bridwell and Frank O. and Lou Nell Bridwell; and nieces, Julie Bridwell Suess and Jennifer S. Bridwell. Dad was an intellectual with a gift in linguistics and an eternal interest in all cultures. He was a brilliant, kind, and gentle man; a rare individualist; and a profound thinker and dreamer driven by an internal compass that few understood. Never wavering in his personal convictions, he was an inspiration to many who knew him and left many that encountered him in awe. Words cannot fully convey the feeling of loss of this inimitable man, brother, friend, and unconditionally loving father. He will be deeply missed, but he is now finally at peace. Our family wishes to thank all those at Golden Acres that cared for him over the course of the last 6 years, many going above and beyond the call of duty. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas.
