William Alan Brown Sr.'s Obituary
William Alan Brown Sr passed away on Monday, March 2 at his home in Garland TX.
Alan Sr was born on September 22, 1950. grew up in Dallas, TX, with his loving Father, Mother, and beloved brother. He attended Bryan Adams High School, and graduated in 1969. A talented athlete, he played baseball, football, and ran track. He married Sharon Lewis on June 1, 1971.
A staunch patriot, Alan Sr proudly served in the United States Army as a Senior Corporal. While stationed at Ft Lewis in Washington, he and his wife Sharon welcomed their first son, William Alan Brown Jr. on March 3, 1972.
After moving back to Texas, Alan Sr served with FCI Seagoville with the US Government, before taking medical retirement with benefits in 1988. He and Sharon welcomed their second child, Natalie on April 26, 1979.
In his free time, Alan Sr enjoyed watching Dallas Cowboys football games, attending local rodeos and stock shows, and going to country music concerts. He loved tex-mex food (especially ground beef tacos!), and often went to go have lunch with his son Alan and say a friendly hello to everyone working at the dealership!
He was an avid historian, with a great interest in Native American culture and artifacts. His collection of arrowheads and artifacts is extensive, and it brought him great joy to share the history of each item with anyone who was interested. Alan Sr was also a self-taught expert in gemology, with vast knowledge of all different gemstones, where they originated, and how they are valued.
A born and raised Texan, Alan Sr loved his family, his country, and the Dallas Cowboys. He was always friendly, greeting everyone with a handshake, a smile, and a “have a great day!” His memory lives on in the lives he touched, and the legacy of patriotism and and loyalty that he demonstrated.
