William Michael Burpo's Obituary
William Michael Burpo (Mike) 70, of Balch Springs, TX, passed away May 11, 2021. He was born to Frank and Marilee Burpo on June 7, 1950 in New York City, NY. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert Burpo. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Burpo; his brother, Frank Burpo Jr. and wife, Becky Burpo; sister-in-law, Sharon Burpo; his four children, Angel Burpo Irvine (Bob Irvine), Jennifer Burpo Moya (Alex Moya), Amanda Burpo Busby (Scott Busby) and Michael Burpo; six wonderful grandchildren; and many in-laws, and nieces and nephews. He retired from Hadley Auto Transport and was a long time Teamster’s Union member.
Mike grew up in a military family and always shared fond memories of the places and army posts he grew up in. There were many happy and mischievous stories shared of his childhood with his brothers.
Mike never lost his love for traveling and seeing new places. Becoming a truck driver was the perfect career choice for him. It was hard on him being away from his family days at a time, but that made it even more special when he came home. He always made time for his family.
Music was a passion he had his whole life. He even wrote songs for his family which showed his sentimental side. Music was always in the home, playing on the radio or making his own. He enjoyed playing his guitar.
Mike loved his family and he loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He wanted everyone to know Jesus. He will truly be missed.
The visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, May 20, 2021, and services will be held at 2pm Friday, May 21, both at Robinwood Baptist Church in Seagoville, TX.
Depression is an illness; addiction is an illness; together they can be deadly if not treated early and properly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The National Alliance on Mental Health.
