William Henry Cantwell's Obituary
CANTWELL, WILLIAM HENRY Born 6/25/1920 in Springvale, Tennessee and passed away June 5, 2012. Preceded in death by parents, David C. and Ida Cantwell; wife, Wilma; daughter, Priscilla; sisters, Lucille Cantwell and Mary Ayers; and brother, Harry. He is survived by son, Bill, Jr.; sisters, Nina Styke and Betty Mowell; brother, David C. Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He attended Tennessee Wesleyan in Knoxville, joined the U.S. Navy during WWII serving as a “seebee” in Hawaii. He worked in the restaurant business until 1954. Afterwards he owned an auto air conditioning business located on Main Street in downtown Dallas for 48 years before retiring in 1992. Pop loved playing poker at the VFW # 6796 on Garland Rd. on Thursday afternoons and was a diehard Cowboy & Texas Rangers fan. Always with the quick wit & a big animal lover, especially dogs. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm, Thursday, June 7th at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held 3:00pm, Friday, June 8th at Restland Wildwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either VFW #6796 or the SPCA.
