William Henry Chavez Houghton's Obituary
William Henry Chavez Houghton, four year old son of Keavagh Chavez and Stephen Houghton of Dallas, Texas was welcomed into heaven June 9, 2016. William’s final hours were spent surrounded by family and friends he had touched through his short, yet memorable life. William will forever be remembered for his gentle, sweet nature and beautiful smile under a mop of golden curls. He was a ray of sunshine to all he met and the light of his family and friends’ lives. We will remember his love of smelling flowers…then fake sneezing. He also enjoyed making eggs in the morning, painting, baking, Paw Patrol and Clifford Books. William was an animal lover, especially birds, fish and frogs. Snuggled on our lap, Ant Smashers, Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja were some of the games that he excelled at playing. While on walks, he would often bend over and watch bugs crawling on the sidewalk (and quite frequently feel the need to smash ants with his finger). This last year he joined Buddy League baseball which he loved. Above all, water was his favorite activity. You name it, puddles, swimming pools, bathtub, sprinklers, splash pads! He found joy in it all! William is survived by his loving parents Keavagh Chavez and Stephen Houghton; maternal grandparents Victor and Orla Chavez; paternal grandparents David W. and Sharon Houghton; aunts and uncles, Justin and Claire Houghton, Killian Chavez, Tiernan Chavez, Jennifer (Houghton) and Adam Bodovsky; and cousins Isaac Houghton and Bailey Bodovsky. William is also survived by his great grandparents, as well as numerous great-aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation and the Rosary will be at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 14th, 2016 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 5231 Meadowcreek Dr, Dallas, TX 75248. In remembrance of William, donations may be made to the Child Life Department at Medical City Children’s Hospital in the form of infant rattles and teethers, little people, lego kits or kids DVDs. William’s family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Medical City Children’s Hospital.
