William Philip Chew's Obituary
William Philip “Bill” Chew passed away May 18, 2010. Born in Dallas, Texas on June 28, 1913, only child of William Locke Chew Jr. and Kate Reichers Chew. Bill graduated from Oak Cliff High School, now known as Adamson; belonged to the social club, “The Revelers”, whose friendships continued throughout their lives; served in World War II as a pilot trainer; and was an avid golfer all his life. Preceded in death by his wife, Jean Harris Chew, from Hazelhurst, Mississippi. Survived by their daughter, Janice Jones and granddaughter ,Lauren Jones, both of Dallas. Also preceded in death by his first wife, Johnsye Baker Chew. Survived by their daughter, Carole Ruska and her husband Bruce of Gun Barrel City; granddaughter, Danna McCormick and husband John of Washington, DC; and great grandsons, William and Connor.
