William Cooper's Obituary
William R. “Bill” Cooper born December 12, 1925 in Davenport, Iowa and entered into the Lord’s presence on August 30, 2011 while sleeping. Bill graduated from the University of Texas (Austin) with engineering degrees. He served as a bombardier in the Army Air Corp in WW II. His career was spent as an engineer working with LTV and Boeing. After retiring, Bill enjoyed many and varied pursuits including real estate development and home construction / renovation. He was a surveyor, pilot, and investor. Bill had an active mind, a lively sense of humor, and an unstoppable energy for tasks and teaching others. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Preceded in death by his parents, William Richard Cooper, Sr. and Willie Hufstutler Cooper. Survived by his loving wife, Barbara Parker Cooper; daughter Martha Wright and husband Rick; daughter Cheryl Carlton and husband Bart; son Paul Cooper and wife Marnie; daughter Valerie McMillan and husband John; ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A Memorial Service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at Denton Bible Church (2300 E. University Drive, Denton, TX) on Saturday, September 3rd at 1:00 PM with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Denton Bible Church Memorial Fund.
