William Michael Denny
September 5, 1956 – June 24, 2025
William Michael Denny, 68, born on September 19, 1956, to William Patrick Denny Jr. and Dawn Sherburne Denny. William, known to his family and friends as "Mike," led a life full of curiosity, passion, and loyalty. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dawn Sherburne Denny.
Mike was a lifelong member of the Church of Incarnation in Dallas, Texas where he faithfully attended a men's bible study.
Mike graduated from JJ Pearce High School in 1974, where he was an active member of the Mighty Mustang Band and played the trombone. He went on to earn a degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1978, where he developed a love for the Aggies and was a proud supporter of the university. He later obtained a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas. He also attended many literature classes at the University of Dallas.
Mike spent his professional career at Texas Instruments, EDS and Hewlett Packard where he worked as a computer analyst. Outside of his career, Mike was an avid collector of history books, war and movie memorabilia. He enjoyed sports statistics, movies, classical music and bird watching.
He is survived by his father, William Patrick Denny Jr.; his brother, Mark Sherburne Denny and wife Kathleen Reese Denny; his aunt and uncle Milt and Ann Vaughn; cousins Amy and Jeff Hanson, Lisa and Jo Vasquez, Steve and Debbie Crow, Scott and Sally Crow, and Paula and Billy Cook. His nieces and their spouses Sarah and Sam Robinson, Megan and Michael Solis and Laura and Ben Bates. Mike also leaves behind eight grandnieces and grandnephews, all of whom brought him joy.
A family memorial will take place at Restland Cemetery's Wildwood Chapel on July 19, 2025, at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Friends of the Richardson Public Library.
