William Frederick Dews' Obituary
Bill Dews died March 2, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. He was born January 26, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois. to Fred W. Dews and Edith Kuester. He worked for most of his career in the automotive industry, including with The Associates, Chrysler, Bosch, Standard Motor Products, and Sears Automotive. Bill loved cars, and remembered details about every car he or his family owned from age 4. Though his Chicago roots were strong, he loved Texas and married a Lone Star State native—the late Sarah Segrest Dews. Although divorced, Bill and Sarah remained friends. Bill loved reading about U.S. history, watching Dallas sports, taking photos, and visiting with friends and family. He is survived by his children Julia Dunham (Doug) and Fred Dews (Paula Kelly); granddaughters Brittany Morgan (Jason) and Ruby Dews; great-granddaughter Isabelle Sarah Morgan; brother, Robert Dews (Janet); and nephew Jason Dews. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, in The Wildwood Chapel, Restland Funeral Home, Dallas on March 10, 2017. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
