William Pascal Flook's Obituary
William Pascal Flook, 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Dallas, Texas on September 5, 2014. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on August 2, 1929, the son of Cecil and Winnie Flook. Bill attended Garland High School, then later attended General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan. He served proudly in the U.S. Air Force with the Strategic Air Command, as Rank – Staff Sargent, Tail Gunner of the 15th Air Wing, 92nd Bomb Group (Heavy), 327th Squadron, based out of Spokane, Washington at Fairchild AFB. As a tail gunner, he expressed that there was no more of a beautiful site than to see the world from above and in knowing that it was his responsibility to be there to have his crews backs at all times. He considered this responsibility a great honor. Bill always had a passion for the auto industry, starting his career with Ken Pruitt Buick in Garland Texas. He then joined General Motors Corporation in 1957, with the Buick Motor Division. Through his years with the company and well into his retirement he helped friends and neighbors understand the quality of the product he so loved. During those corporate years our family moved often but settled back in Dallas in 1968. He retired in 1986 after 29 years of service with the company. He was known by his peers as a kind person that was engaging, funny and always willing to take the time to help others. Bill was always interested in youth sports, coaching Little League baseball, Pop Warner Football as well as Soccer. After coaching each of his five children in their elected sports, he continued as our biggest cheerleader. That support extended far beyond just sports, as he was there to help guide and support us in our individual careers and lives. His greatest enjoyment and pride was his family. There were many summer camping trips at Lake Texoma, teaching each and every child how to water ski and enjoy the outdoors. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Dolores (Schaffer) Flook (better known to all as Petey); daughters, Lisa Ann Glass of Dallas, Deborah Lynn Price of The Woodlands; sons, William P. Flook, Jr. of Chester, NY; Steven L. Flook, of Frisco, and Brian D. Flook of Clear Lake; 9 grandchildren, five great-grandchild. A Memorial service for William Flook will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. A private burial service to include the family will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Veterans Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238.
