William Stanton Frazer's Obituary
William (Bill) Stanton Frazer, Born January 9, 1930 in Johnstown, PA, and went to be with the Lord March 1, 2017 in Garland, TX. Preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Mary (Fleck) Frazer; and his brother, Dr. Richard Frazer, and his wife, Bonnie. Survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Betty (Towns) Frazer; his son, Richard Frazer, and his wife, Sherry (Felix) Frazer; his son, John Frazer; his daughter, Cheri (Frazer) Gresso, and her husband, Jeff Gresso; his grandson, Rick Frazer, and his children Cole and Chase; his grandson, Mike Frazer, and his wife Christina (Reinhardt) Frazer, and their children, Kaylee, Mikey and Zachy; his granddaughter, Nichole (Frazer) Eller, and her husband, Josh Eller, and their daughter, Brielle; his grandson, Collin Gresso; his granddaughter, Amanda Gresso; his brother, David Frazer, and his wife Kelly; his sister, Ruth (Frazer) Louder, and her husband, Chuck; his brother Robert Frazer, and his wife, Diane; his brother, Paul Frazer, and his wife, Ellen; and many other family members and dear friends. Bill graduated high school in South Fork, Pennsylvania, in 1947. After graduation, he worked for U.S. Steel until he enlisted in the Army in September 1948. He met and married his wife, Betty, in 1949, while stationed at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. Right after they were married, he was stationed in Yakima, WA, where they lived for eight months until he was deployed to Korea. He served in Korea for 18 months in the 68th AAA Gun Battalion. After returning home, he and Betty spent time stationed in North and South Carolina until he was honorably discharged in April 1952. He and Betty returned to Pennsylvania, where he joined the Army National Guard and went back to work for U.S. Steel. They continued to live in Pennsylvania, where all three of their children were born. In 1981, Bill transferred to U.S. Steel in Garland, Texas, and also transferred from the Army National Guard to the Air National Guard. After retiring from U.S. Steel, Bill went on to become the Traffic Manager for Ingersoll-Rand in Garland. During his time as Traffic Manager for IR, he had the opportunity to participate in a UPS commercial that was aired all over the country and even had a spot during a Super Bowl game. He retired from the Air National Guard in 1990 and Ingersoll-Rand in 1995. Throughout the years, Bill thoroughly enjoyed driving school bus in the various locations they lived. He continued to drive school bus until he retired in his early seventies. He faithfully served at First United Methodist Church in Garland, TX – as president of the John Markley Sunday School Class, leading Sunday School devotions, working in VBS, serving food, and in various other ways. He adored his wife and loved his family. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and teaching them about life. He also loved golfing, fishing, hunting, reading and playing cards. He will be missed dearly by so many, but we can all rejoice knowing that he is now celebrating in Heaven with Jesus. Family will receive friends on March 8, 2017 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243. Service will be held on March 9, 2017 at 3:00pm in the Wildwood Chapel, also at Restland Funeral Home.
