William David Hatfield, Sr.'s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of William David “Bill” Hatfield, Sr. He died at home surrounded by his loving family on October 17, 2018 in Mesquite, Texas.Bill was born December 21, 1930 in Shackelford County, Texas to parents Homer Nathaniel Hatfield and Audrey Ivy Hatfield who preceded him in death. He grew up in Stamford, Texas, where he met Ethylene Kelley. They married on December 1, 1950.Most of his working years were spent in banking/accounting. Later in life he owned and operated a limousine service which he loved so much.He is preceded in death by his parents Homer and Audrey, brother Eddie Lewis Hatfield, step-father Roy Roach, nephew Keith Hatfield, mother and father-in-law, Irene and F.C. Kelley, and brother-in-law, Herschel Kelley.His dad died at a very early age in his life. However, he and his brothers never lacked for love, guidance, and direction from his mother and grandparents.He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ethylene Hatfield, son David Hatfield and wife Marcia of Mesquite, Texas, two daughters Carol Hodges and husband Mark of Terrell, Texas and Kelly Kennedy and husband Don, of Wills Point, Texas, grandchildren Jason Hatfield and wife Tracey, Jeremy Hatfield and wife Irene, Michael Hatfield, Allison Hogan and husband Josh, Katy Valdivia and husband Edher, Adam Kennedy, John David Kennedy and wife Melanie, Josh Kennedy, Daniel Kennedy and wife Raychel, 15 great-grandchildren, brother Lee Hatfield and wife Iris, sister-in-law Bonnie Hatfield, brother-in-law Hubert Kelley and wife Ruth, sister-in-law Doris Ann Gruno and husband Bob, sister-in-law Mary Jean Kelley, and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.Visitation is scheduled for Monday October 22, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas.Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday October 23, 2018 at 10:30 am at Campbell Road Church of Christ, 2828 W Campbell Road, Garland, Texas.Pallbearers assisting with the service will be Bill’s grandsons and grandsons-in-law.In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
