William Roger Hornsby's Obituary
William Roger Hornsby, born November 1, 1943, in Dallas, Texas, has gone to be with the lord. Roger devoted his life to his family. He is survived by wife, Sheila; daughters, Jo Ellen Cardoso and Suzette Pritchett; and sons, Roger Alvis Hornsby and Byron Pritchett. He is also survived by sisters, Sammie Whitley of Princeton, Texas, and Nell Sartor and husband, Johnny of Bedford, Texas. He also leaves behind four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews to mourn his passing. Roger graduated from Mesquite High School and the University of North Texas. He served in the United States Air Force as a corpsman and attained the rank of staff sergeant. he worked for roadway express for approximately thirty years before retiring. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Dickey, who taught him to have a Christian heart, his father, Roy Hornsby, and brother, John Park. A memorial service for William Roger will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Restland Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
