William Milton Newsom, resident of Canton, TX, peacefully went to be with his Lord on March 2, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on January 24, 1936, in Kerens, TX, to John and Wilmoth Newsom, William lived a life full of love, dedication, and faith.
William graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1955, where he was known for his kindness and strong work ethic. It was during these formative years that he met the love of his life, Nellivee "Nell" Stewart. Their love story began with a promise to always take care of each other, a promise they upheld throughout their 68 years of marriage. They were married on September 1, 1958, and their union was a testament to enduring love and commitment.
William dedicated nearly 40 years of his professional life to Texas Instruments, where he was respected for his hard work and integrity. Despite his demanding career, his true passion was teaching Sunday school. He found immense joy in sharing his faith and guiding others in their spiritual journeys.
For many years, William was an active member of Lake Highlands Baptist Church, where he formed lasting friendships and served his community with dedication. Later in life, he moved to Canton, TX, and became a cherished member of both First Baptist Church and Tundra Baptist Church. His faith and commitment to his church communities were unwavering, and he touched many lives with his wisdom and kindness.
He is preceded by his parents, and one son Tim Newsom. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nell, and their son Russell Newsom, who will carry forward his memory and the values he instilled in them. William's life was a beautiful journey of love, faith, and service, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of William's life will be held at Eubank Funeral Home, located at 27532 State Hwy 64, Canton, TX 75103 on Thursday, March 6, 2025, beginning promptly at 11 AM.
