William Howard Penix's Obituary
Bill Penix, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2019 in Athens, Texas. He was born on November 11, 1923 in Mineral Wells, Texas to parents William H. and Elsie M. Lodal Penix. He graduated in 1941 from Mineral Wells High School and served in the Army Air Force in WWII before embarking on a career in print advertising production in Dallas, Texas.Bill married the love of his life, Mamie Lee Mayes, on May 17, 1945 and had a storybook marriage for 67 years, while being active members of several Baptist churches during those years.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his sister, Marie L. Sims Kay. He is survived by his sons, Ron and wife Cherie Taylor and Jim and wife Dee Oswalt, his grandsons Will and Zach Penix, and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. We love you Pepaw.
