William Robert Shelburne's Obituary
William Robert Shelburne died on November 20, 2016, at the age of 44, in Dallas, TX. He was born January 13, 1972. He was the eldest child of Judy Butts and her husband Tom, and George Shelburne and his wife Jessie. Bob is survived by his sister Alice and husband Mark Sarmiento, nieces Rowan and Olivia, nephew Nathan; his brother John and wife Tanny Shelburne, nephew Samuel; and his stepsister Sharon Butts and her husband Paul Franco. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Elizabeth and William Board and Gertrude and Dr. Samuel A. Shelburne, Sr. A graduate of Highland Park High School, Bob was a natural athlete who especially enjoyed playing golf. He was a former member of Brookhaven Country Club where he was known to other golfers as “Double Eagle” after he shot a double eagle on a par 5 hole. He closely followed the stock market and spent many enjoyable hours fishing, working on cars, and being outdoors with his grandfather. Racing pigeons, listening to music, and watching football and golf on TV were foremost among his other interests. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 8011 Douglas Ave. at Colgate, Dallas, TX 75225. A reception will follow in the Parlor at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
