William Weddle Simpson, 92 of Irving, Texas was born on January 15, 1931 in Asheville, North Carolina to George and Helen Simpson passed away on March 18, 2023.
He married Doris Lunsford on September 2, 1950 in Henderson, North Carolina.
He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2494 in Irving, Texas and served as Commander for a short time.
He served in the Marines from May 1950 to May 1954 as a Sergeant and fought in the Korean War. He was a firefighter in Asheville, North Carolina for 7 years and a police officer in Dallas, Texas for 22 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen Simpson, his wife Doris Simpson, his second wife Helen Evans Simpson, son-in-law Lawrence Lochhead, siblings George Simpson, Jr. Doris Little and Betty Neilson.
He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Lochhead, Lisa Ballard (Keith), Amy Brody (Brian), 5 grandchildren - Ashley, Wesley, Stephanie, Suzanne and Scott, 8 great-grandchildren and his sister, MaryAnn Scawthorn.
Graveside Service is at Restland Cemetery on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 11:00am.
