William C. Tankersley Jr.'s Obituary
William C. Tankersley Jr., a cherished resident of Garland, Texas, passed away on February 25, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born to the late William and Ruby Tankersley in Cullman, Alabama. William, known affectionately as Bill, was a beloved husband to Mrs. Geraldean Tankersley, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Bill dedicated 45 years of perfect attendance of his life to his work with Southwestern Bell Phone Company, where he made lasting contributions and formed meaningful connections. Beyond his professional endeavors, Bill found joy in leisurely pursuits, particularly golfing and indulging in fine cigars. His passion for these activities brought him moments of contentment and relaxation throughout his life.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Geraldean, his loving daughter Patti Moore (Terry), his devoted grandchildren Taylor Moore (Julie), and Chad Moore. His daughter Pennie Sexton (John), and grandchildren Jacob Sexton, and Molly Sexton. Bill's family was his pride and joy. He found immense happiness showering them with gifts and sharing their accomplishments.
In addition to his immediate family, Bill is remembered fondly by his sister and brother in law Ferrell and Doug Jones, his sister Wynell Thompson, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Wayne Tankersley.
Bill Tankersley's life was one marked by love, laughter, and a genuine appreciation for the simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love and fond memories he leaves behind.
