William Alex Vinson's Obituary
VINSON, WILLIAM ALEX 88, of Dallas, Texas, was born May 8, 1923, in Rowell, Arkansas to Alex and Minnie Lee Vinson. He passed away December 23, 2011, in Dallas, Texas after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. William served in the U.S. Navy as a shipfitter Second Class in the Pacific during WWII. After the war, William worked for Local 100 Plumbers & Seamfitters for over 50 years as a plumber & pipe fitter. He served as a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church. William is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mattie Esther Cole Vinson; his sisters, Mildred Patrick and Loraine Sipes; sisters-in-law, Lorene Cole Vinson and Dorothy Cole; brother-in-law, Embry Cole; and many nieces and nephews. The family expresses our sincerest appreciation for the loving care William received at the Walnut Place, Dallas, Texas and for the support from Faith Presbyterian Hospice of Dallas. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 1:30 PM in Restland Memorial Park located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243, phone # 972-238-7111. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, Texas 75205-2397.
