William Everett Woods' Obituary
Bill Woods was born on November 11, 1918 in Leonard, TX and died at home on January 18, 2009 at the age of 90. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and good friend to many. Bill was the only child of Harlan and Edna Woods. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Leila Sorell Woods. As a young man, Bill served in the Army for over four years and then began his career as an automotive wholesaler. He owned his own Automotive Wholesale Parts and Equipment business in Houston known as “Motor Supply”. He and Leila moved to Austin, TX where he worked for the Automotive Wholesalers of Texas. After 31 years, he retired and moved to Plano to be near his children. Bill is survived by two children: Dr. Phillip Woods and Deborah Ann Jackson, 5 grandchildren: Kathryn Woods Brockman, Elizabeth Anne Woods, William Woods, Megan Ann Jackson, and Phillip Jackson. He is also survived by son-in-law Gerald Jackson, and daughter-in-law Christine Nevin Woods. Bill was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner for sixty-five years. Bill was devoted to his family, lodge members and many senior friends. He will be greatly missed. Memorials or donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Medical Foundation, or Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch. Visitation will be from 5 to 7PM Tuesday January 20, 2009 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be at 12:30PM Wednesday January 21, 2009 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
