Mrs. Willie Champion Bogar's Obituary
Mrs. Willie Champion Bogar loving wife, mother, grandmother, and kind spirit to all, age 73, of Garland, Texas, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021, in Dallas, Texas. She was born to Mr. Clyde Champion and Ms. Berneather Collins on Wednesday, March 31, 1948, in Greenville, Texas. She attended Carver High School where she was a member of Carver Marching Band. She was the first female member of Carver Jazz Band. She went on to graduate second in her class of 1966. She graduated from Prairie View A&M with a BS Degree in Education and got her Masters at East Texas State. Upon graduation she went on to teach for 44 years as a Educator. She was awarded Educator of the month from the Kiwanis Club and Educator of the year from the NAACP. Willie was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Berneather Champion; brother, Irving Champion; and niece, Karen Champion. Those left to cherish her memories, a loving husband, Dwight Bogar; sons, Brandon (Reka), and Byron (Erin); sister, Anita (Cloid) Adams; brothers, Arthur Champion, Winston (Lola) Champion; sister-in-law, Ramona Champion; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.
