Apa was a man of personal and moral integrity, very wise and a man of faith. There are not enough adjectives to describe him. Ama was the disciplinarian and Apa was our saving Grace! We could do no wrong! Our parents were a force to be reckoned with when it came to their family.
God blesses all of us with the gift of memories. I will cherish and hold dear our many conversations about family, life, his stories about growing up, his hardships, and triumphs. I always said Apa was favored by God because he always triumphed.
I thank God with all of my heart for the honor and blessing of being able to care for both Ama and Apa in their later years of failing health. They took care of me, my children and grandchildren when I needed them most.
I ask all of you to hold each other a little tighter and to honor your parents because they have a lot of wisdom to share. Pass kindness forward giving God thanks for our many blessings.
Love you, Apa.
