Willie Faye Prather's Obituary
Willie “Faye” Prather was born November 21, 1919 in Farmersville, Texas to Bert and Lillie Allsbrooks and passed away in McKinney, Texas on April 12, 2014. She met her husband, Jim Prather while they were working in a cotton field. As she leaned down to tie her shoe, Jim noticed her and asked her for a date to go see a movie, which happened to be the first time she had ever been to a movie theatre. They were soon married on May 27th, 1939, and spent many years together before Jim passed away in 1981. Willie “Faye” was the glue that held this family together. She will always be remembered for her kind, loving disposition. She was always known for “grandma’s biscuits”, which she got up to make every morning at 4 a.m. Willie “Faye” was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Lillie Allsbrooks, husband Jim Prather, son Kenneth Prather and daughters Cora Lillie Jones and Dorothy Straub, sisters Gladys Lott and Bertie Dickerson, and brothers Alvin, Albert, Thomas, and Jesse Allsbrooks. She is survived by sisters Lois Prather and Mary Gibson, son Ronald Prather, Daughters Martha Hall, Bettie Hall, and Sara Fields and a host of grand and great grand children and relatives and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 15, 2014, 6-8 p.m., at Restland Funeral Home, and 30 minutes prior to funeral service. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, April, 16, 2014 at 10:00a.m. At Wildwood Chapel, Restland Memorial Park, with interment to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Blue Ridge Cemetery, in Blue Ridge, Texas.
