Willie Charles Smith was bornin Dallas,Texas, the first of two children born to the late Charles E.Smith and Pearlene Smith. He brought immense joy to his parents and family from the very beginning. He grew up in the greater North Dallas area alongside his sister, Saundra Smith Willis, who preceded him in death.
Willie Charles received his education in the Dallas Public Schools. Where he met the love of his life in high school, the late Narva Dean Smith. They united in Holy Matrimony at a young age and together they cherished their time together, until her passing. A man of deep faith, he confessed Christ at an early age and was a devoted member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park, under Pastor Dr. J. Lee Fosterandlaterunder Pastor Gregg Foster, throughout his adult life, he served faithfully for many, many years.
Those Left to Cherish His Memory He leaves to cherish his memory: his Aunt Gloria Jean Smith Dilworth and Imogene Jean Smith, Jackie Smith; bother-In-law Greg Willis, Greg Willis II, Channin Willis, (Alinda) Landon Willis; Channis Jr. Saundra Willis, and Ladesha and a host of cousins, family, and friends. Smith (Finnell), Cozean Smith, Harbert (Allen Harbert), and Herman Smith Sr.; and his paternal grandparents,
Willie lived a life marked by dedication, service, and commitment to his country and community. He proudly served in the United States Navy and later devoted over 30 years of service to the United States Postal Service, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Willie carried the values of discipline, respect, and perseverance throughout his life. His years of service reflected a deep sense of duty and pride in contributing to both his nation and the public he served daily.
Willie will be remembered for his steadfast character, his sense of responsibility, and the lasting impact he made on those who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.
He leaves behind a legacy of service, integrity, and dedication that will be cherished by family, friends, and all who knew him.
