Willis Russell Davis' Obituary
Willis Russell “Rusty” Davis was born on December 15, 1958 to Glenn Goodman Davis and Mina Marie Davis in Dallas, TX. Rusty loved learning and singing from a very early age. I’ve heard that his grandfather gave him his first set of encyclopedias when he was 5 years old, and he’s been singing as long as he could talk. He attended Casa View Free Methodist Church most of his childhood.
In 1984, Rusty moved to Oklahoma City where he met Tami Mott. They were married on October 20, 1984 after only 14 weeks of dating. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Tami Davis; four children; Amber Dawn Lee, Emily Elise Contreras (husband Juan Contreras), Geoffrey Grant Davis (wife Melissa Davis), foster son Charles Branson, five grandchildren, Lillian Lee, Adriana Olivarez, Olivia Contreras, Mia Davis and Cannon Lee, who he was so proud of, his mother, Mina Davis Timm, his sister Denise Combs (husband Curtis), nephew Jeff Combs, niece Melissa Ash, several great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Glenn Goodman Davis and his stepfather, Harvey Timm, his mother-in-law, LoRee Mott, brother-in-law, Ronald Mott and sister-in-law, Jacque Mott.
Celebration of Life, Sunday, October 29, 2023, 3:00pm, Keystone Church of Mesquite.
Inurnment will be held at Laural Land Cemetery, Dallas, TX at a future date.
