Wilma Christeen Avery's Obituary
Wilma Christeen Avery, 87, was born in Detroit Alabama on October 18th 1928. She had resided in Dallas Texas since 1955 and entered Heaven peacefully in her sleep on March 31st 2016. She was married to Harold Avery, whom she met in Hamilton Alabama, and who preceded her death in September 1985. Together they had 1 son, 3 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She was a long time member of 2nd Baptist Church in Dallas where she had numerous friends and enjoyed her Sunday school class. She was a very hard working and loving woman who adored her family and friends. Although she will be missed dearly, we take comfort knowing that she is in Heaven in the arms of our Savior. Wilma Christeen Avery is survived by her son, Earl Wesley Avery; sisters, Lorene Vann; Gearl Dean Weaver; brother, James Lockheart; sister-in-law, Carolyn Westbrook; brother-in-law, Billy Don Avery; grandchildren, Tabitha Lindbergh & husband Eric Lindbergh; Brandi Houston & husband Chuck Houston; Wes Avery & wife Lisa Avery; great grandchildren, Chais Lindbergh, Morgan McBee and husband Chase McBee, Gatlyn Lindbergh, Tinley Avery, Linken Houston, Cole Avery She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Avery; father, Odie Lockhart; mother, Virl Johnson Lockhart; brothers, Wilson Lockhart, Billy Ray Lockhart; sister, Willer Dean Ritter. Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will take place at 9:30 am on Monday, April 4, 2016 at The Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
