Wilma Faye Green's Obituary
Ms. Wilma Faye Porter Green, born September 2, 1927 in Prescott, AR, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ August 1, 2018 in Dallas, TX. She was the daughter of Matthew T. Porter and Susie Wingfield Porter. Ms. Green lived in Dallas, TX for 54 years. She was married to the late Homer William Green for over 50 years.During her marriage to a US Army Veteran, she traveled the world as a supportive wife and mother, including living in Berlin, Germany for 3 years. She had a gift for teaching and taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Adult Bible classes. She made the Bible come alive! From her studies of the Bible, she stated that she had complete assurance that it was real and she lived out the witness of her faith her entire life. In Dallas, she was a faithful member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church, Mesquite, TX and a frequent guest at First Assembly of God, Dallas, TX.Ms. Green was a perfect southern lady. This included deeply loving her family and friends, and always looking beautiful. She had the gift of hospitality. She loved to cook and has always been known for her tacos, cakes, pies, and the best peach cobbler in the world. She loved to entertain at holidays, birthday dinners, and wonderful Sunday lunches.Her legacy lives on with her family that she loved dearly. She is survived by her 3 children and their spouses, Jeannie and Bill Green, Cathy and Larry Worrell, and Dr. Cindy and Tony Weber, 5 grandchildren, Stephen Green and wife Kathy, Clayton Worrell and wife Krystle, Blake Worrell and wife Leslie, Rev. Sean Worrell and wife Chelsea, Alexandra Weber McGowen and husband Jordan, great grandchildren, Amber Green, Audrey Green, Ansley Green, Reagan Worrell, Kennedy Worrell, Sadie Worrell and Brooklyn Worrell, and four siblings, Colleen Porter, Barbara Green, Sue Green and Winfred Green Sr. as well as many family and friends. She is preceded in death by six siblings, numerous family and lifelong friends.Ms. Green genuinely loved her Lord, her family and her friends she will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 4th, 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Sunday, August 5th, 2018 at 2:00pm at Restland Memorial Chapel.
