Mrs. Wilma Green, you are truly a hero in our book! As a U.S. Army Veteran wife, my wife knows the sacrifices that you had to give in order to support your “hero” husband as you were moved and supported your husband as he heeded United States’ Army call moving around the world! As a result, you raised your children in the love and admission of the LORD!
Although we have only known your daughter, Dr. Cindy and her handsome husband, Tony for a relatively short period of time, it seems that we have known a long time as we are in the same Sunday School class and Fellowship group. We were privileged to join them a couple times when invited to a Texas Ranger game. We love to listen to Cindy talk of you and her love for the LORD, which is a direct result of your diligence and influence in pouring the love of God into her life (and the rest of your children). That is your legacy, as the WORD say, “I have no greater joy than to know that my children are walking in the LORD.” 3 John 1:4
Wilma, our only regret is that we were not able to meet you personally. Enjoy Jesus in Heaven and save a place for us because we can’t wait to see Jesus and meet you.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good… “ When I think of Wilma, I think of this quote from the Bible. I didn’t get to visit with Wilma very often but I feel like I knew her very well because I know Cindy… the God-loving, kind, smart, daughter she raised to be a contributor to all that is good. She was the grandmother to Alex, her beautiful granddaughter who is exemplary in her life, integrity and accomplishments in these times when so many youth her age are lost. She was a dear friend and great company to wonderful June. They spent many hours visiting, commiserating and solving the world’s problems together. This is how I knew Wilma – through her tree that bore wonderful fruit through Cindy, Alex, June and the many others that were her family and friends. It’s very hard to cross the bridge from wanting to keep someone you love with you forever to the other side of the bridge with them being in heaven, at peace and with a body that doesn’t hurt anymore. I know there are no words to take away the grief of loosing a mother, a grandmother and a beloved friend. There are no words. Just know my prayers, thoughts and my love is with you. Tara

Wilma and I were very close friends when we lived in Dallas, and remained friends after we moved to the Houston area. She died on my birthday. She was one of two people that I have met, that the very minute I saw her, our hearts connected, and I knew that we would be lifelong friends. Lots of sweet memories of shopping trips, coffee or tea chats, and articles of gifts from her through out our house. She was a very kind, loving, giving, gracious friend. My life was blessed for having known her. See you later, sweet friend.

Our hearts are very saddened, but also joyful that she is in Heaven with Jesus now. She was such a wonderful lady and will be truly missed. We love her so much, she was such a sweet and loving aunt. We will miss seeing that beautiful smile. Love all of you and we are praying for God to bless you with peace and comfort.

Wilma and I co-taught third graders at Dallas First Assembly back in the 70’s. What a talented and sweet person with whom to work. My mom, Fredna Grant, thought the world and all of Wilma and counted her as one of her dearest and closest friends. Whenever I think of Wilma, I can hear her sweet voice and see her quiet loving way and reaching out to others. I will personally miss this sweet lady. Farewell friend.
