Wilson Warren Whatley III's Obituary
Wilson “Warren” Whatley III passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025 in Houston, Texas. Born September 17, 1937, Warren lived a fulfilling Christian life devoted to his Lord and to his family. Raised in Dallas, Texas by his mother, Lois P. Whatley and father, Wilson Warren Whatley II, Warren attended Woodrow Wilson High School. Upon graduating, he attended North Texas University where he received his degree in 1959 and went on to become a Certified Public Account until his retirement. He and his beloved wife of 48 years, Wacine Whatley, settled in the Hot Springs and Little Rock areas until relocating back to Texas to reside closer to family. Warren is survived by his wife, Wacine, and 5 children, Wilson Warren Whatley the IV (wife Valerie), Beverly Sturch (husband Tom), Cynthia Whatley (wife Sherry), Kevin Johnson (wife Charlene) and Sherrill Wise. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Christopher Whatley, Elyce Whatley, Joseph Sturch, Jonathan Sturch, Lisa Gossett, Kristen Wise, Jason Johnson and 5 great grandchildren, Kayla, Emma, Chase, Anthony and Wilson the V. Warren was a devout Christian whose love of Jesus Christ was evident in his many years of giving back to the church communities in which he was involved. In reflection, Warren will forever be remembered for his kind spirit, his infectious laughter and his warm smile that welcomed every stranger to engage in conversation. He will live in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 9am followed by a graveside service at 10am. Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas Texas.
