Winifred Percilla (Prissy) Graves' Obituary
Winifred Percilla Graves, lovingly known as "Prissy," passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024. Born on January 25, 1940, to Percy & Lucille Forbes, Prissy lived a life filled with joy, adventure, and devotion. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson HS in Dallas, TX in 1957. Married to her beloved husband, Carroll Graves, for 63 wonderful years, Prissy cherished her family and friends deeply, finding joy in simple pleasures and spending time with her loved ones.
Prissy’s family was her greatest treasure. Her children and grandchildren always knew they were deeply loved, and Prissy was involved wholeheartedly in their activities, performances and sporting events. Known as "Mimi" to her grandchildren, her legacy of love and devotion lives on through her son Martin Graves and his wife Sheryl, son Michael Graves and his wife Melody, and her daughter Melinda Graves Wemhoff and her husband Ted. She was a proud grandmother to Ashley Graves, Andrew Graves, Aiden Wemhoff, Alan Wemhoff, and Aaron Wemhoff. She was preceded in death by her precious granddaughter, Anne Graves, and loving sister, Jane Lancto.
Prissy had a passion for country and western dancing and loved traveling in the RV with Carroll, especially to Ruidoso, New Mexico, and to the Texas Hill Country, where they visited cherished friends and created memories wherever the road led. She held dear many life-long friends, annual parties, and children of friends she loved as her own. She was known for giving big hugs to everyone, whether it was a lifelong friend or someone she’d just met, extending warmth and kindness to all who crossed her path. Her spirit for adventure and love of life were evident to all who knew her, and her warm, inviting smile will be missed by many.
A lifelong Christian, Prissy called Frisco Bible Church her home and lived her life grounded in faith, prayer, compassion, and kindness.
A celebration of Prissy’s life will be held at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas on November 5, 2024, where family and friends will gather to honor her vibrant spirit and enduring love.
Prissy always cared for the well-being of others, and in her memory, she asked that all women remain vigilant about their health and continue their mammograms, even if doctors or insurance deem them unnecessary with age.
