Winnis Lea Dozier's Obituary
Winnis Lea Dozier was born on August 11, 1922 in Maud, Texas and passed away on October 05, 2014 in Denton, Texas. She is preceded in death by her brother, Howard Minton. Winnis was a member of the Lake Point Baptist Church where she was active in her Sunday School Class. She loved decorating her home, she enjoyed traveling. Winnis was an avid gardener and a member of Sunnyvale Garden Club. Most of all she was a wonderful baker which was reflected in her cookbook, “The Love of Chocolate”. She is survived by her son, Gary Speer and wife, Beverly; sister, Jean Derrick; brother, Charles Minton; nieces, Sheliah Derrick Marshall, Carolyn Derrick Potts, Debra Derrick Odom, Rhonda Minton, Vickie Sue Minton Holland, and Shari Delaine Minton Young and nephews, Michael Minton, Jason Minton, Jerry Minton, James Derrick and Shawn Dee Minton. The funeral service for Winnis will be at 12:30 PM on Thursday, October 9, 2014 in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, visitation will be one hour prior in the Chapel.
