Winona Jean Ball's Obituary
BALL, WINONA JEAN passed away on September 18, 2012. Mrs. Ball was born in McKinney, Texas on July 1, 1923, and recently celebrated her 89th birthday with her friends and loved ones at Grace Presbyterian Village. Emmett Ball and Winona P. Ball were married on February 6, 1942, shortly after the beginning of World War II. Emmett served in the US Army. They had a wonderful family relationship for 67 years until his death in January 2009. Their son Richard E. Ball passed away in June 2009. The family lived in the Kessler Park area of Oak Cliff, and all were loyal members of Cliff Temple Baptist Church. Mrs. Ball was also predeceased by her brother, John Poe. She is survived by her cousin Bobbie D. Stevenson of Plano, Texas, Kenneth and Claudia Ball of Melissa, Texas, Charlotte Spivey of Plano, Texas and many other members of Emmett’s large and loving family. The family thanks Rosalind Hobbs and Patricia Covington for their loving care of Winona for several years. The family also thanks Mike Tork, Richard’s friend, who continually came by to cheer up Winona during her declining years. Funeral services will be held in the Restland Memorial Chapel on September 20, 2012 at 2:30 PM with Reverend Dr. Dan Griffin officiating. Memorial contributions in memory of Winona Poe Ball may be made to Cliff Temple Baptist Church, or the charity of your choice.
