W.J. Ray's Obituary
RAY, W.J. (Dub) A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather died at the age of 100. He was born October 22, 1913 in Dallas, Texas. He is preceded in death by his wife Georganna Ray after 73 years of marriage. Dub worked as purchasing agent for Air Associates in the early part of his career. He then formed his own business Ray Aircraft Supply which he and Georganna operated for 20 plus years making bags meeting military specification for shipping aircraft parts. He loved the game of golf and played whenever he could slip away during the week and always on Saturday plus a few vacations to Hawaii for a little more practice. His other retirement hobby was growing tomatoes for over 30 years. Every spring 63 tomato plants went into the ground supplying family, neighbors and friends with an abundance of tomatoes. W.J. is survived by his two children, Ann Welch, David Ray and wife Jan: three grandchildren, Wendy Henderson and husband Jim, Ryan Welch and wife Erika, and Chris Ray; two great grandchildren, Jacob Welch and Noah Welch. The family would like to thank the employees and staff at Signature Pointe on the Lake for their loving care. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made by your choice to any charity.
