Wyatt Hopkins Cox Sr.'s Obituary
COX, SR., WYATT HOPKINS Funeral services for Wyatt H. Cox, Sr. are scheduled for 10:0am, Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Restland Memorial Chapel at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Mr. Cox passed away peacefully January 3, 2011, at Medical City Hospital after a six month battle with lung cancer. Wyatt H. Cox, Sr. was born March 22, 1922, in Dallas to Walter and Marie Cox. He was raised in Dallas, where he graduated from Highland Park High School and in 1939, graduated from Texas A&M University. Wyatt enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1941, and served until 1945, when he was honorably discharged as a decorated WWII hero with honors. After his return home from the war, Wyatt followed in his parents footsteps, beginning what turned out to be a fifty-four year career as one of the best men’s clothing sales representatives to travel the southwest. Wyatt was an avid domino player and also loved hunting and fishing. He was rich in friends and loved spending time with his friends and family. Wyatt is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Marie Cox. He is survived by his loving wife, of fifty-one years, Carol Ann Cox; son, Wyatt H. Cox, Jr. and wife, Monica; daughter, Kimberly Ann Cox; grandson, Brandon Cox; brother, Robert Cox and wife, Lynn; sister, Carolyn Bougher; and several nieces nephews and other family members. Family visitation will be held at 6-8pm, Friday at Restland.
