LTC Xavia M. Holt's Obituary
Xavia Milton Holt Jr., our faithful warrior, has laid down his armor and passed gently into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Xavia was born on May 14, 1932 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Xavia Milton and Martha (Bates) Holt.He grew up a farm boy on the family farm in Gilbert, Louisiana. Milking cows before school and driving a tractor after school, he learned his work ethic early. Self admittedly a poor student, when Xavia entered New Mexico Military Institute, he found a love of history and the military. He graduated from New Mexico Military Institute and went directly into the Army where he served honorably for 22 years, retiring at the rank of Lt. Colonel.Xavia was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Freda Thompson Holt. He is survived by their children: Cathy M. Holt, Debbie A. Holt and Kenneth F. Holt, and grandchildren Ashley and Kyle Holt. He is also survived by his second wife, Cynthia Stevens and his step daughter, Eva Noel Stevens.He leaves behind to celebrate his life his church family at Arapaho Road Baptist Church and many dear friends at Brookdale Senior Living. Xavia was a man who lived his life in service to others: His God, his country, and his family. With his Servant’s Heart, he led by example. Now this warrior can rest in Eternal Peace with his Lord. Rest, sweet Warrior, your job here is done.Visitation will be held on from 6-8p.m., Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service for Xavia will be held in Restland’s Wildwood Chapel on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 12:30p.m., immediately followed by interment in Veteran II Garden, Restland Memorial Park.Funeral arrangements entrusted to Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
