XiaWei Wu's Obituary
XiaWei Wu was born in Shanghai, China, on November 2, 1941, to his parents, Guiqing Wu and Zheng Xiuzhen. From humble beginnings, he grew into a man whose life journey would span continents, cultures, and generations.
In 1966, he married the love of his life, Shu Chen. Together, they built a strong and devoted partnership that lasted more than 57 years, until her passing in 2023. They were blessed with two sons: Yi Wu and Zhen Wu.
In 1983, XiaWei made a courageous decision that would shape the future of his family—he left his native China for the first time and moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. There, he embraced a new language, culture, and way of life. With determination and resilience, he and his wife explored various small businesses while creating opportunities for their sons to grow and thrive. During this time, his eldest son Yi nurtured his passion for piano, developing into a virtuoso young pianist.
In 1990, XiaWei and his family immigrated to the United States to be closer to Yi while he studied at Southern Methodist University. Throughout his life’s journey, XiaWei formed lasting friendships across the world. He was known for his kindness, compassion, and generous spirit. He had a deep love for the arts and music, and above all, a profound devotion to his family.
XiaWei Wu is survived by his sons, Yi Wu and his wife Han Qingwen, and Zhen Wu and his wife Sunmi Wu; and his cherished grandchildren, Ryan Wu, Carson Wu, and Charlie Wu.
He is also survived by his siblings and extended family: his sister Wu Peili and her husband Wang Huai, and their son David Wang; his brother Wu Guowei and his wife Xia Meiying, and their daughter Wu Min; his nephew Wu Chingqian; his sister Wu Aili and her son Xue Feng; his brother Wu Zhiwei and his wife Zhou Hongfei, and their son Wu Bin; his brother Wu Zhenwei and his wife Yingying; his sister Wu Xiaozhen and her husband Ma Weisen, and their son Ma Shizhan; and his sister Wu Peihua.
XiaWei Wu will be remembered for his strength, warmth, and unwavering dedication to his family. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Shu, and his legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.
