Zora Willeford Hutchison's Obituary
Lady With The Hat Zora Willeford Hutchison Mrs. Zora Willeford Hutchison, beloved wife of deceased husband Mr. James E. Hutchison died July 26, 2015. Zora, as she was known by her friends, was born September 25, 1924. Though Zora and James were originally from Greenville and Dallas their careers led them to California where James was senior vice president of Balboa Insurance Company. They moved to Horseshoe Bay and Temple when they retired. Zora was an energetic citizen. She loved people. She joined and actively participated in community organizations and helped in political campaigns for people which she believed had “the right ideas”. She did not hesitate to describe those ideas for them. When attending some of her more formal community events Zora believed that formal meant just that and was sometimes seen wearing one of her fine array of hats shown in the picture. One of her favorite organizations in Temple was The New Comers Club to which she belonged for more than 15 years (SIC). Club members as well as her close neighbors greatly assisted her after the death of her Husband. Zora was a devoted member of Temple’s first Christian Church. Zora is survived by brothers, Rex Willeford, Porter, TX; sisters, Ruth Hill Fant, Huntsville, TX; and Patricia Grimes, Eagle, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents John Plen and Nancy Vesta Willeford, brothers, J.T. Willeford and O’Dial Willeford, sisters, Mary Caldwell, Fannie Stapelton Ramsey and Opal May. And, of course, by her husband, James E. Hutchison. As well as her family and many people who knew her loved Zora deeply and shed many tears at her passing. brother, O’Dial Willeford, and sister, Mary Caldwell Funeral services for Zora will be held at Restland Funeral Home 13005 Greenville Avenue Dallas,Texas 75243 Friday, July 31, 2015 at 12:00 PM in The Abbey Chapel, with the Rev. Roy Parker officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 31, 2015 in the Abbey Chapel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
