Adelbert (Andy) Arlo Anderson's Obituary
Adelbert “Andy” Arlo Anderson went to the Lord on February 27, 2016 at 12:25 am. He was surrounded by members of his family. Born September 6, 1924 in St. Johns, Michigan, living to be 91. Son of Rilla Eve (Henderson) Anderson and Clyde Baker Anderson. Andy served in the US Navy from 12/11/1942 – 11/23/1945 during World War II, leaving active duty with Honorable Relief as an Ensign. Joined Navy Reserves until 1966, retiring as a Navy Pilot, Lieutenant Commander. Andy married Rose Mary Harold, September 11, 1945. Rose Mary preceded Andy in death on November 3, 1986. They had three children, Jerry Arthur Anderson, Born January 8, 1949, Sharon Ann Anderson, Shirley Kay Anderson, born December 30, 1952. Andy married Lavoyda Ann (Dorner-Drinkard) Anderson on May 18, 1990. They had 25 years of a blessed marriage. Andy was a member of 1st United Methodist Church of Richardson, a master woodworker, electrician, plumber, scout leader, loved to travel, faithful family member, father, uncle, brother and husband. Worked at Custom Furniture Places and Texas Instruments (22 years). Andy had 8 brothers and sisters and was preceded by his 3 children, sisters Hilda Ann (Anderson) Bancroft, Wanda Enola (Anderson) Ryan, Carol Eve (Anderson) Wallace, and brother Sam Anderson. Andy is survived by his beloved wife, Lavoyda; son, Timothy Shaun (Liza) Drinkard; grandchildren, Stephanie Annaliza, Stacy Darlene and Kymberlee Ann; 2 great grandchildren, Edward and Isabelle; sister/brothers, Louis (Norita) Anderson, Lois (Anderson) Glass, Helen (Dick) (Anderson) Todd, Earl (Marlene) Anderson, Mary Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will take place at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 4, 2016 at The Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, Lavoyda requests contributions to your favorite charity or cancer organization.
