Adelle Keahey McLester Passed away peacefully on July 7th, 24 days shy of her 102nd birthday in League City, Texas. She was born in Rockwall, Texas on July 31st, 1921. She graduated from Carrollton DeWitt Perry High School in 1939 Read Obituary
My father, Noel Gayle, worked with Adele at Hunter Hayes Elevator. He always spoke very highly of her. Our family visited in their home many times. My Daddy retired in 1982. He passed away in 2008.

I work at The Delaney at South Shore. I always gave Mrs. Adele. Sprite with whatever she eat for lunch and dinner. I love serving her and seeing her down for lunch and dinner and she loved her vanilla ice cream 🍦 for dessert. I miss her a lot and not seeing her beautiful face at the Delaney. My favorite memories are visits to her home in Dallas in past years as Archie and I travelled through Dallas going to and from Canadian fishing trips north of Minnesota. It was always a refreshing rest stop. I enjoyed playing a few tunes on the organ as we enjoyed a light lunch before resuming travels to Houston. A welcome and pleasant rest stop on our travels.
Adelle was a special friend to our father Nolan Byrd, and to us. We have wonderful memories of our luncheons and visits with Adelle. Every time I came to visit my father, we would visit Adelle. She was an amazing cook and we still make her delicious coconut cake. Adelle had a zest for life and shared many wonderful stories. All of our sympathy to her beloved family.
