Alice Anne Beamer's Obituary
Alice Anne Beamer, of Richardson Texas, passed away on September 7, 2025 in Plano Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving sister, wife, mother, Nana, friend and nurse to all that knew and loved her.
She was born on January 9, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri to Edward and Alice Verberg. Alice graduated from Ruskin High School in 1958, and went on to pursue her Nursing Degree from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in the state of Missouri. Upon graduation, Alice began her career as a nurse in a private practice at St. Luke’s Hospital in 1961. She married Milton Beamer in Grandview Missouri on June 8, 1962, and went on to have two beautiful children; Jeffery Michael Beamer (1965) and Nancy Anne Beamer (1968). She continued to serve her community as a nurse at St. Luke’s hospital in Missouri until 1970, when she moved with her family to Richardson, Texas. For the next thirty-one years, Alice worked as a nurse at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas Texas.
Alice poured her heart into her work and helping others. In 1991, Alice and Milton welcomed their first of seven grandchildren into the world. In 2001, Alice retired from nursing at Presbyterian Dallas, and began traveling the United States with her husband, Milton. From 2004-2009, Alice re-entered the nursing field as a travel nurse as she continued her travels around the U.S.. In 2009, Alice and Milton returned to the DFW area to live near family, and welcomed the first of their eight great-grandchildren to the world in 2011 Alice regularly attended family events to support her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in their own interest areas. Alice was proud to be a two-time breast cancer survivor. In her later years, Alice continued working as a nurse at Doctor’s Hospital, Richardson Regional Hospital, and most recently at Alere/ Optum as a High Risk Home Health nurse before her final retirement in 2022 at the age of 81. Alice was an active member in the Hallmark Ornament community and the Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas Retired Nurses community until she passed. She also enjoyed going to lunch with former colleagues, attending events with Celebration Senior Group at the SPOT, and was highly active in events at Evergreen Senior Living Apartments.
Alice is survived by her son, Jeffery Michael Beamer of Frisco Texas, and daughter Nancy Anne Beamer (Husband, Sean) of Wylie Texas, grandchildren Megan Husson Benavides (Husband, Jack Benavides), Nicole Husson Roberts (Husband, Jack Roberts), Allison Husson Acevedo(Husband, Victor Acevedo), Ryan Husson, Brendan Beamer, Cameron Beamer, and Sarah Beamer, as well as great-grandchildren Peyton Benavides, Harper Benavides, Oliver Benavides, Sawyer Benavides, Benjamin Roberts, Madelynn Roberts, Mia Acevedo, and Luna Acevedo. She is also survived by her sister Sally Livengood (Husband, David) of Springfield Missouri, brother John Verburg (Wife, Lin) of Winder Georgia, brother Robert Verburg (Wife, Joyce) of Lee’s Summit, Missori, 2 nieces and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Milton Beamer.
Alice’s Celebration of Life event will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Richardson Woman’s Club.
