Allen Newell Stickney's Obituary
Stickney, Allen N. passed away in Dallas, Texas on July 6, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Houston, Texas where he attended Thomas Jefferson High School. Allen held a degree from Baylor University and a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was awarded an honorary Doctorate from the Hindustan Bible Institute in Madras, India. Allen and his wife Alice served as IMB missionaries in Kenya, East Africa for over 30 years. He founded African Christian Outreach Discipleship Ministries as a way to support ongoing student ministry in Africa and businessmen’s ministry in the United States. Allen dedicated his life to evangelism and discipleship. His passion was for others to know Jesus and grow personally in their relationship with Him. He served as Pastor of First Baptist Church Augusta and Sylvester, Georgia. He also served as Associate Pastor of University Baptist Church Fayetteville, Arkansas and Park Cities Baptist Church, Dallas. He is survived by his wife Alice Miles Stickney, his son, Thomas (Kerry) Stickney and daughter Aprile (Paul) Hyder. His ongoing legacy is in his grandchildren, Kayelyn, Maddyson, Allyson, Sydney and Raegan. A public Celebration of Life service will be held at Park Cities Baptist Church at 2:00 pm on July 25, 2008.
