Alton Ray Taylor's Obituary
In loving memory of
Alton Ray Taylor, age 82, passed away Sunday January 19,2020 at his home in Dallas, Tx.
He was born in Canton, Tx. February 13, 1937 to Robert Henry Taylor and Ethel Carrie (Rawlings) Taylor.
Alton is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Taylor. Surviving children, son, Randy Taylor and wife Donna Taylor; daughter, Diane McMillen and husband George McMillen; son, Greg Taylor and wife Debbie Taylor; 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Alton was preceded in death by daughter, Cindy Bicknell; son, Doyal Taylor and grandchild Brittney Nicole McMillen.
Alton was born in Canton, Tx and later married his wife of 67 years Betty Taylor of Tyler, Tx on July 5, 1952 in Greenville, Tx. They had 5 children.
Alton was the the founder and owner of A & A Boiler & Machinery Co. in Dallas, Tx from 1965 to 1997, when he retired.
In retirement, Alton grew to love yard work, gardening and tinkering in his garage.
In 1954, Alton and Betty joined Open Door Baptist Church and have stayed faithful members to this day. Alton held numerous positions through the course of the 65 years of service. He was a bus driver for 49 years, head deacon, usher, building maintenance and grounds keeper, etc....
Alton was saved at the age of 13 and was a dedicated Christian. He made it a point to witness to everyone he came in contact with.
He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.
