I first met Alva Ferguson in 1979. I was 17 and had a love for the grocery business. Mr Ferguson was a Produce District Mgr. for Tom Thumb. He was a great mentor and got me into the produce Dept.. Later I had a problem with one of the store managers and it became a little confrontational. The Mgr. wanted me dismissed, Mr. Ferguson stepped in and said, I do not believe what the Mgr. is saying, so I am sending you to another store, but if it happens again I will have no choice. I was given a promotion and a raise.
Yesterday, 4-22-21, I was in a rough spot and really questioning my faith, in a dream, I saw him and said, Alva Ferguson your still alive. The importance of this he was a mentor when I was 17 and at 60 he still is, as this vision restored my faith.
I see that a tribute was left by Dave Cooper, who was one of my first Store Directors at Tom Thumb 46, when I was 15, and he was responsible for introducing me to Mr. Ferguson.
