Alva M. Ferguson's Obituary
Alva M. Ferguson of Tool, Texas passed away on September 10, 2018 in Terrell, Texas. Alva was born on February 17, 1922 in Ada, Oklahoma. He graduated from Ada High School and began his career as a meat cutter before marrying the love of his life, Edith McElroy, in 1942.He was in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Los Angeles during World War II. At the end of the war, he quickly rose to executive positions in Humpty Dumpty, Wrigley’s, Kroger’s and Tom Thumb.Alva retired in 1996 and spent many happy years golfing and boating at Cedar Creek.He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Edith, two brothers, two sisters and his very good friends Noma and Dick Bartz.Alva is survived by his son, Don and wife, Caren of Terrell, Texas and his daughter Janet Felts of Plano, Texas. He had three grandchildren: Kelly Morten, Amy Duckworth and Aaron Felt and eight great grandchildren.He was a Christian, a member of the Baptist Church and he is now present at a great family reunion in heaven.The family request visitation be held on September 14, 2018 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm with a Graveside funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm at Restland’s Cemetery.
