Amanda Nicole Stone's Obituary
Amanda Nicole Stone was born in Garland, TX, on March 30, 1986, to Don and Lisa Phillips. She passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Her boundless love for her family, her passion for storytelling, and her distinctive laugh will be remembered by all who knew her.
Amanda grew up in Garland, where she cherished spending time with her parents, grandparents, and extended family. As the only child of her beloved parents, Amanda filled their lives with love, light, and laughter.
She graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a bachelor’s degree in education. During her time in college, she made lifelong friends and followed her passion for people through mission trips to Prague and Guatemala. Her experiences serving others profoundly shaped her life and faith.
Amanda met her husband, Aaron, through mutual friends at church, and they were married in 2009. They welcomed their sons, Henry and Wendell, in 2014 and 2015, to whom she imparted her quick sense of humor and her hope-filled outlook, no matter the circumstances she faced. Amanda persevered through each step of her cancer journey so that she could embrace every moment with the family she loved so fearlessly, faithfully, and fully.
Amanda had a passion for her students and for fostering a culture of inclusion in her classrooms at Sam Houston Middle School and Jackson Technology Center. She left a lasting impact on both her coworkers and students.
Amanda had a passion for all things vintage and a keen eye (and ear) for the past. She loved hosting game nights and cocktail parties, bringing together both new and old friends. Amanda had a gift for telling great stories and laughing at them even more. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and always relished the company of good friends.
Amanda’s faith in Jesus was deeply rooted, justice-centered, and other-oriented—without pretense. Her love will endure.
Amanda's memorial service will be held this Saturday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. at City Church Garland
2510 N Glenbrook Dr.
