Angus (Andy) T. Sayers
April 11th, 1953 - June 19th, 2020
Angus (Andy) T. Sayers is survived by his wife Lisa, sister JoAnne Sayers Thyfault, sister in law Jan Kutilek Sayers, brother and sister in law Alan and Aryna Dryden and Aunt Laraine Clarke. Andy was the grandson of prominent East Texas attorney and State Legislator Angus T. Russell for whom he was named. He was the beloved son of of executive banker, Commander Lew Carey Sayers, Sr and Mary Russell Sayers and younger brother of Lew C. Sayers, Jr.
Andy graduated from Hillcrest High School in Dallas in 1971 and was in the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity when he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of North Texas in 1975. He was a successful banker, following in his father's footsteps who worked in several States, including banks such as Mt. Vernon Bank & Trust in Illinois and Owensboro Bank & Trust in Kentucky. He was a Loan Officer, Vice President or Director in Texas banks such as Texas Commerce Bank N.W., Highland Park National Bank, City National Bank of Plano, First Western and First City Bank.
Andy then worked in the paper industry for Sabin Robbins Paper Company in Georgia from 1992-2008. He returned to Texas working as an Investment Advisor for Investors Asset Management Company till late 2018.
He is survived also by nieces Lynne Hubbard Clow (husband Ted Clow) Chantelle & Ashleigh Dryden. And nephews Russell Scott Thyfault, John Kenneth, Nathan, Michael & Zhenya Dryden. And godaughters Sammy K. Reed, Rachel Fernandez, Kelley & Sabrina McMaster & many loving friends & family around the world.
The family asks in lieu of flowers that you contribute to TCAP (Texas Coalition for Animal Protection) or another organization of your choice in his name.
His virtual live-stream only church service will be held in Wildwood Chapel at Restland, Dallas on July 24th, 2020 at 10.00 AM. Please see the Restland Dallas website to view the service online. The Celebration of Life , Scattering of Ashes Memorial will take place at a later date on Lake Texoma near Grandpappy's Point where he will join his father and brother. Rest in Peace Andy, you will be deeply missed.
