Anita Pauline Hawkins, age 91, was born in Texarkana, Arkansas on May 29, 1934 to parents Zeb and Bessie Lathram and passed away in Dallas, Texas. She is survived by her sons, Steve (Laurie) of Hawaii, Stan (Sharlett) of Kaufman, Read Obituary
Mrs. Hawkins was always so kind and caring.
As a teenager I was often visiting my friend Scott. She was always so kind, inviting me in to their home. I clearly remember her explaining to me that, "Mr. Hawkins wasn't responding to me while watching T.V., because, he was asleep", with his eyes open. Haha I had never seen that before.
She was always able to take a minute to stop and listen to Scott and I play a song or two on guitars. She had an ease and grace about her presence, and a really sweet humor.
And she cooked a wonderful chicken fried steak for dinner, that was delicious and made with love. A love that she gave so graciously and easily you didn't even know it was happening. As I reflect back on this now I clearly see how wonderful the special
unique gentle humor and love she poured into the mix of the world,contributed and made it better for everyone.
How wonderful a blessing to have known her,wonderful.

I don't have enough space to write all of the best memories of you. Each time we were together has always been special to me. I guess if I had to list anything, the best memories of you are the great sense of humor you had and the positive outlook on life. You were the best mother, mother in law, and grandmother anyone could have hoped for.
