Larry Cole
My name is Larry Cole. I am the husband of Ramona Cole, RN. My wife was employed at Plano General Hospital on the 3rd floor in Medical Surgery in the '70's & '80's. There were several occasions where "Mona" had contact with Dr. Arnold when she was the nurse for many of Dr. Arnold's patients. There were times I would take something to my wife in the evening and I would be fortunate enough on to meet and talk to Dr. Arnold. She was so easy to admire because of her knowledge, personality & sense of humor.
She was also a big sport fan, especially for her University of Arkansas Razorbacks. One evening I took my wife an evening meal and on the way back to our car, I got into a crowded elevator, Dr. Arnold being one of the riders. She was wearing the "Uncle Heavy's Original Hog Hat", the one Arkansas fans wore to the game. I asked her, "Who's going to win the Arkansas game Dr. Arnold?"
At that moment, in the middle of this crowded elevator she gave a loud "Hog Call"! She raised both arms and yelled “Wooo” as she wiggled her fingers.
Then she brought both arms straight down with fists clinched and yelled “Pig!!!.” I'm sure several people on the elevator was surprised as I. It was the "coolest" thing coming from an extremely intelligent doctor.
Dr. Arnold was great doctor, along with being a great person. She was one of those people many people loved and highly respected.
I'm very honored to have known her.
May she Rest In Peace!
