Dr. Ann Carol Arnold's Obituary
Dr. Ann Carol Arnold was born in Hope Arkansas on June 14, 1946, and died December 26, 2024, in Dallas Texas. She graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, after just three years and finished medical school at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. She was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Fraternity. Dr. Arnold completed her internship in internal medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. There, she received the reward for "Best Teaching Intern" by the medical students. Ann completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and completed one year of fellowship in Hematology and Oncology. Ann was a well-respected internist in the City of Plano and essentially brought internal medicine to the city itself. Dr. Arnold was the first female Chief of Staff at Plano General Hospital, now known as Medical City Plano and served in this position for two terms. She was the first female physician to sit on the Hospital Board of Trustees and was also on this board for two terms. Ann was the only female to be a member of the National HCA Board of Governers. Ann met Dr. Eugene Morris in Plano Texas when he called her look for a place to practice in Plano. They became close friends, fell in love and married September 4, 1982. They shared over 42 years of marriage together.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Lorene and Richard Arnold; and her brother, Richard Guy Arnold.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Eugene Morris; her sister, Nan Faith Arnold (Linda Wiland); and her nephews, Jon Richard Arnold (Elizabeth); and James Anthony Arnold (Maeghan).
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you give memorial donations made to: The North Texas Food Bank; First Baptist Church at The Fields in Carrolton or to Congregation Anshai Torah.
Graveside services will be held at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 29th in the Mt. Sinai section.
A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church at the Fields in Carrollton, Texas at 10 a.m. on Monday January 20th, 2025.
