Annie Bell Lewis' Obituary
Annie Bell Davidson Lewis was born July 22, 1922 in Renner, Texas to John Willie Davidson and Priscilla Snead Davidson. She was the 7th of 8 children. She entered the first grade in White Rock, and attended York School in Elm Thicket in the 5th through 7th grades. She attended Booker T Washington High School. Her family attended Mr. Pisgah Baptist Church on Preston Road and Bethany Baptist Church. At age 17 Annie Bell met and married Tolliver Lewis. Tolliver had just completed his service in the US Army. At that time, she was attending Bethany Baptist Church. They were married on December 21, 1939 by Reverend Sly who was pastor of Bethany Baptist Church. There were six children born to their union: Tolliver Lewis Jr. (Rose), Margaret Lewis Marable (Joe), Wassel Lewis (Carolyn), Ralph Lewis (Margaret), Delores Jean Lewis, and Michael Lewis (deceased). She was a mom who did not have a mother to emulate, but was totally blessed with God’s love and passed it on to her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Munger Avenue Baptist Church for over 70 years where she worked as an usher, taught kindergarten in the church school, and worked with the missions. She enjoyed most, her Sunday school class where she nurtured friendships and loving relationships. Annie Bell leaves behind grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. They joy she had will be missed, but always remembered. Service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 12:30 PM at the Restland Wildwood Chapel with the visitation an hour prior to the service. An Interment will take place on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Dallas- Fort Worth National Cemetery.
